Camp Scholarships
Cancer often isolates children from their friends and the activities they love. The Camp Scholarship Program allows children in remission to reconnect with those friends and activities. The program is offered for free, and provides funding for a camp of their choice; sports, music, art, science, horseback riding, water skiing or other activities they missed most during treatment.
The Scholarship Program took shape around the idea: find a need and fill it, find a hurt and heal it. A simple act of compassion, so often overlooked; that’s what the children and families need. What could be more powerful?
We strive to put a smile on a child’s face, by letting them choose a camp to go to after finishing treatment and being well enough to attend a regular camp. To register, see below.
Backpack Program
Each child that is sent to camp by us will also receive a summertime backpack. In these backpacks we supply first-aid items as well as recreational items (Velcro mitts & tennis ball, foam football, hat, camera etc). We aim to provide something for children who may arrive at camp with little or no extras. The items inside each bag will help make a child’s stay at camp truly memorable! And the recreational items will encourage children to socialize and have fun with fellow campers!
We also supply backpacks to an oncology camp in Ontario that is specifically designed for children with cancer to attend while still in treatment. Last year we sent out over 800+ backpacks to kids all across Canada.

Scholarship Eligibility
Any child from 7 – 18 who is undergoing cancer treatment and those children who have completed treatment and feel well enough to attend a camp setting are eligible. Friends, family, healthcare professionals, and clergy may make nominations. Programs are available throughout Canada.
